Floodplain shrublands and open plains incorporate Lignum, Chenopod, Grassland, Sedgeland and Herbland vegetation. Birds that have been surveyed in this habitat type include the White-fronted Chat and Superb Fairy-wren.

These areas are noted for providing habitat to Broad-shelled Turtle nests, due to the protection and material that Lignum provides.
